On February 6, 2024, Connie Louise Wieczorek, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Greenleaf surrounded and supported by her loving family. Connie was born on April 12, 1951 to James Arthur Cox and Martha Louise (Schmidt) Cox in Caldwell, Idaho. She was the youngest to her 5 siblings: Gene, Floyd, Curtis, Barbara, and Peggy. Connie grew up and attended school in Caldwell and graduated from Vallivue High School in 1969. During her senior year, she was the Secretary-Treasurer for the Student Council, the Treasurer for the Future Business Leaders of America (PBL-FBLA), and was in the 1969 Nampa Junior Miss Pageant. Also in 1969, Connie worked at Budget Finance in Caldwell as part of a 90 day on-the-job training program through the high school. In her youth she loved sewing, cooking, singing, roller skating, and horses. Connie used to sell Sarah Coventry Jewelry and was their branch manager. In 1975 she won a trip to Reno and had “so much fun!” On July 9, 1971, Connie married Harlen Dean Fischer with whom she had 2 children: Fred Dean Fischer and Susanne Rochelle Fischer. Harlen was killed in a plane accident in Oregon June 24,1978. Several months later, Connie was swept off her feet by Timothy Stanley Wieczorek after being introduced by mutual friends, and they were married on December 3, 1978. Together they added 2 more daughters to their family, Ariana Wieczorek and Lydia May Wiezorek, and spent the next 45 years building wonderful memories together. Connie attended Boise College and worked as a beautician, a check-out clerk at Safeway, and a secretary for Bill Doty and most notably as a secretary for James Hughes for 32 years in the finance and life insurance industry. Connie loved bowling, attending Toastmasters, singing in church, and teaching Bible studies. She loved to travel, and her first time leaving the U.S. was to Japan for the birth of her 5th grandchild, Jason McKee in 2003. Connie had a strong faith in God and grew up attending church. Her mother, Martha, was a charter member of First Southern Baptist where Connie was saved and baptized at age 8 and was a church member, herself, for 67 years. Most recently Connie and Tim have been attending Deer Flat Church. Connie will be remembered for her beautiful smile, laughter, and generosity, and for her love of God, family, and friends. She is survived by her brother Gene Cox of Caldwell, ID and Peggy Keevy of Cheney, WA; her husband Timothy Wieczorek, her children Fred Fischer and wife Mary (Christian, Elliott, Ian, Jude); Susanne Jerome and husband Bob (Tyler and wife Emma (Nora), Beau); Ariana McKee and husband Rick (Collin, Jason); Lydia Blair and husband Mike (Summer, Hunter, Preston). Connie’s family thanks and appreciates everyone who came to visit her, call her, video call her, bring food, assemble puzzles with her, and pray and care for her in her final days. She was so grateful for all of you. Connie maintained her beautiful smile and a peaceful and happy demeanor right up until the end, never once complaining. Connie’s faith could not be shaken and she was confident of where she was going when her life came to an end. “There is only one way to God. That way is through His son. Jesus paid it all! I am confident in my Salvation. I know where I will go when I die. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and what he has done for me! He is my hope and salvation. I TRUST HIM! I was taught in VBS and Sunday School. I learned about Jesus and what he has done for me. I then invited Jesus into my heart and asked him to be Lord of my life. He promised to forgive me and to be with me FOREVER!!!! I’m just a simple woman, loved by God. I am a child of God. I am a lamb of God. Thank God, I have HIM!!!! I could not go on without HIM!!!!” A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, Idaho, followed by a grave side interment at 12:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell. A celebration of Life service will be held at Deer Flat Church in Caldwell on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the camp scholarship fund at Deer Flat Church.
