Tribute

Connie Charlene Albiston Bair, 63, our loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2019 after her courageous battle with cancer.
Charlene was born in Boise, Idaho on January 13, 1956. She was the youngest child of Norman and Beverly Albiston. She grew to age 5 on a farm in Meridian, Idaho at which time the family moved to Caldwell, Idaho, where Charlene graduated from Caldwell High School. She met Steven L. Bair in 1976 at a girls’ choice dance. They were married on July 15, 1978 and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden, Utah temple. They made their first home in Boise, Idaho with Steve’s twin brother Stan as their roommate. They later moved to the Church Welfare Farm in 1981 and raised six children there while Charlene ran the fruit sales as a stay at home mother, and Steve still currently manages the orchard. Charlene adored her 24 grandchildren. After her own kids were raised, she had a job on Saturdays at the Post office in Huston, Idaho for about ten years. She left this job to help care for her grand babies. Children and her family always meant the world to her.
Charlene was a faithful and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved to sing and spent many years as part of the church choir and often leading the choir. She also had served as church chorister, a primary teacher, a cub scout leader, and stake relief society secretary among other callings.
Charlene was always a great example and loved to serve others. Throughout her battle with cancer, Charlene crocheted pot holders for all who brought meals or helping hands. When she ran out of people who didn’t already have some of her handicraft, she began crocheting hats big and small to donate to hospitals or to the Deseret Industries. Charlene also enjoyed going to family reunions, singing, canning, shopping, going to church, working at the polls during elections, camping trips, spending time with- and helping her mother, listening to music, crafts, dancing, hamburgers with French fries, and of course babies.
Charlene was survived by her loving husband of 40 years Steve who was her greatest caretaker during her 3 year cancer fight; her mother, Beverly Albiston of Nampa, Idaho; six children: Nathan (Jolene) Bair, Sarah (Joey) Sanchez, Andrea (Reuben) Dietz, Daniel (Stephanie) Bair all of Caldwell, Idaho, Jason (Karen) Bair of Weiser, Idaho, and Ryan (Katie) Bair also of Caldwell; one sister: Wanda (Bob) Gallup of Rigby, Idaho, two brothers Dave (Colleen) Albiston of Lehi, Utah and Mike Albiston of Boise, Idaho; and 24 grandchildren.
Charlene was preceeded into death by her father Norman L. Albiston.
