Myra Matthews-Andrew

April 24, 1928 ~ March 15, 2018 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Tribute

Our Mom, Myra Matthews-Andrew, 89 of Caldwell, passed away peacefully March 15, 2018 of natural causes in Caldwell, Idaho. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at Roswell Cemetery under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel.
Myra was born at home on April 24th, 1928 to Edith May (Morgan) and Cecil Emory Case at Big Bend, Oregon, where she and her seven siblings spent most of their childhoods. In 1945, the family moved from Big Bend to Arena Valley, Idaho, where they farmed the land that is still in their family.
Myra graduated from Wilder High School in 1946 and married Dave M. Matthews on September 24, 1946. They moved to Adrian, Oregon, where their firstborn son was born October 13, 1947. He passed away at the age of 8 months, but this heartbreak was soon healed by four daughters, Wenona Lee“Nonie”, Myra Jean “Jeanie”, Lynda, and Becky. Myra and Dave raised a beautiful family on very little means, but they made sure their girls had fun adventures with yearly trips to the Oregon Coast, camping trips, and other outings. They also loved their camping trips with the grandchildren and spending time with Myra’s sister, Nellie. In 1973 they moved to Caldwell where Dave passed away 11 years later on October 19, 1984.
Myra was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked hard as a school cook and janitor in Adrian, as a cashier at Model Market in Caldwell, and as a posting clerk for Canyon Abstract & Title and Stewart Title before she retired in 1989.
Myra met Lyle Andrew and they were married in July of 1989. She moved out to Lyle’s farm in Wilder and was once again very happy with her new home that had such beautiful views. They had many fun traveling adventures during their marriage, but were always glad to come back home. Lyle passed away in 2007, and Myra moved to Nampa, staying with her daughter and son-in-law, Nonie & Jerry.
In 2014 she entered Assisted Living at Autumn Wind where she resided until her passing. A special thank you to Donya and Marian at Expressions in Autumn Wind for loving our Mom and taking care of her.  Also to Nancy with First Choice Hospice.  You are very much appreciated.
Myra is survived by her 4 daughters, Nonie & Jerry Siney, Jeanie Chattin, Lynda Jenkins and Becky Froemming; 5 grandchildren, Cathy Jo Brock, Stephanie Perez, Davee Raganit, Aaron Froemming, and Amanda Froemming; 8 great-grandchildren, Shelbie Lopez, Kylee Wilson, Kirsten Brock, Emma Brock, Larissa Matus, Tristen Kramer, Isaac Kramer, and Julian (Ashley) Stacey; 2 great great-grandchildren, Beckham and Adelyn; and her youngest sister, Verna Case Thompson Frazer.
