Catherine L. Carver, 69 of Notus, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at a local hospital with family by her side. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 12th at the Wilder Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, at the Parma Senior Center, 410 N 8th St. In Parma.
Catherine's family would graciously accept donations in care of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Cathy was born July 23, 1948 to Thomas & Betty Lou Miller. Cathy and her 10 siblings were raised in the Wilder area where she attended school until she met Celestino “Sarge” Garza. Cathy and Sarge were married in 1964 but were later divorced in 1968. From that marriage she had three children, Lucinda, Fred, and Pam. She married Raymond Carver in 1973 and settled in the Greenleaf area where they combined their families and also welcomed Christopher and Kimberlee.
Cathy had many jobs including custodian, pet groomer, and daycare provider, although her most important jobs were Mom and Grandma. She enjoyed volunteering for multiple organizations including Girl Scout’s, Awana’s and Helping Hands. Many hours were spent around her kitchen table crafting and cake decorating as well as quiet times of reading her favorite Louis L’Amor books. Cathy loved to be outdoors and sharing that love with her children and grandchildren. There was always a new planting to check on, birds to watch or a big fish to catch in the pond.
Cathy is survived by her siblings, Sandra Halbesleben, Elizabeth (Joe) Fowble, Ruth
(Gary) Wilson, Robert (Emily) Miller, Ralph (Jackie) Miller, Twila Miller, Louisa Miller, Randy Miller, and Stanley Miller; her children, Lucinda (Derrick) Tabish, Fred (Susan) Garza, Pam Garza (Chuck Fuqua), Christopher Carver, KimberLee Carver (Mark Fuller), Steven (Sherri) Carver, and Sandy McLeod; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Cathy was preceded in death by Celestino Garza, Raymond Carver, her parents
Thomas & Betty Lou Miller, and brother John Miller.
We miss you tremendously although your smile lives on through your children and grandchildren.
