Byron J. Blackburn, 65, passed away peacefully Thursday December 14, 2017 at St. Luke’s hospital in Meridian, from complications due to a rare bone marrow autoimmune disorder.
Byron was born on May 5, 1952 to Howard and Marion Blackburn and was raised in Middleton, Idaho. He graduated from Middleton High School and attended the University of Idaho. He started his own firm, Zoo Realty where he continued to dabble in real estate when he was semi-retired. Throughout his career, he was a successful real estate developer and completed numerous development and building projects.
Longtime friend, Valerie (Thompson) Rol, attended all three of Byron’s weddings, (1. Alice, 2. Jules) and at the third one on August 25, 2006, she was the bride. They were married at a small private ceremony in their back yard overlooking the Boise River. Together they enjoyed working, gardening, travel and raising their two grandsons.
