Burdena Mae Huckabee, age 87, passed peacefully at Canyon West of Cascadia in Caldwell, Idaho, on Monday, July 9, 2018 from natural causes.
Born July 9, 1931in Benton County, Arkansas, she lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Idaho before settling in Denver, Colorado, where she worked as a waitress. Burdena enjoyed her life in Denver were she had many important friendships. She stayed in Denver until she moved to Caldwell in 2006 to be closer to family in her final years.
While separated by miles Burdena always had a strong love for her children and made the hard choices that would put their well being first. She met the many challenges she faced with a strength that she was proud to have passed on to her children.
Survivors include her daughter, Joy Cooper of Wilmington, NC; her sons, Clifton, Jerry and Steve Bowers of Springdale, AR; her brothers, Clay Harviston of Enid, OK, and Larry Harviston of Caldwell; and sisters, Arlena Loredo and Carolyn Harviston Wynn of Caldwell.
Burdena was preceded in death by her husband, Howard “Guy” Huckabee; her daughter, Vickie Bowers; her brothers, Ray Harviston and Jay Harviston; and her sister, Roma “Mackie” Cardona.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July, 13th at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel. Family and friends are welcome at the service. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
