Brittany K. (Bennett) Nalley

After a fierce fight with cancer, Brittany Katherine Nalley, 31 of Caldwell, lost her battle on May 21, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born to John and Kathy Bennett on September 8, 1986, Brittany was something special. She was a light to everyone she met, and she always shined bright. Caring, kind, and genuine, Brittany’s spirit was contagious. She radiated a positive energy, even from childhood, and continued to be the person who brought everyone together—that’s just who she was.  

Her life became complete when she married Joel Nalley on June 6, 2008. Together Joel and Brittany created two beautiful children, Holden and Harlow, and her dedication to the craft of devoted wife and adoring mother is unparalleled in the eyes of all who witnessed her unending love. These three people were the light of Brittany’s life, and she was the rock in theirs. She treasured her family, and they made her whole. Brittany was also the most amazing daughter, loyal sister, best auntie, coolest cousin, and greatest friend, never turning down a moment to be with her loved ones. Brittany truly valued her life and those lucky enough to be in it. Her soul was beautiful, her personality infectious, and we are so grateful for the time we shared.  

Six years ago, Brittany was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through numerous treatments but learned it had metastasized and spread from her breast to other parts of her body. Brittany knew she had to fight for her life, and she fought so, so hard without a single complaint. You would have never known she was sick, and she wanted it that way. Her strength, courage, and tenacity were nothing short of admirable. Always upbeat, always optimistic, always Brittany. However, she was aware of the finality of her situation and knowing we would have to say goodbye to her one day, Brittany remained a light (mostly for us) and was unwavering in her strength to make sure everyone knew she would continue to love them long after she was gone. She did well by us all.

Brittany is survived by her husband, Joel; her children, Holden (9) and Harlow (5); father, John (Patty) Bennett; mother, Kathy Bennett; brothers Tad Bennett, Chuck (Jessica) Bennett; sisters, Brianne (DJ) Patterson, Brandee (Aaron) Stone; and nieces, Cadence, Gracie, Ellsie, and Evelyn.  

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26th at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. A reception will follow at 22356 Rutledge Ln, Caldwell, ID 83607.

As the result of Brittany’s courageous cancer journey, the family cannot stress enough the importance of breast cancer research. We all know it exists; now let’s beat it. Research matters.
