Betty L Kent

March 24, 1933 ~ December 25, 2021 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Tribute

Mom/Grandma so loved Christmas time and especially Christmas Day. She officially got her angel wings on Christmas Day.

Betty was born in Morrill, Nebraska on March 24, 1933 to Fred and Francis (Clay) Needs. The only daughter with three brothers Charles, Frank and Ronnie. As a young child the family left Nebraska and located in Caldwell, Idaho. The family then moved to Marsing, where as a young girl she worked at the Old Spot Restaurant that her parents operated. She later met James Kent in Marsing and married the love of her life on March 15, 1952 at the Marsing Nazarene Church. To that union were born five children; Patricia, James Jr., Sherri, Corey (Lucky) and Bryan.

Jim and Betty made their home in Marsing and together they started Kent Brothers Transportation with his brother among other business adventures; including the Kent Farm below Lizard Butte where she built her dream home, which she occupied until December 2019 when she had to move to Meadow View Nursing Facility. She would make many friends while there and loved playing bingo with the other residents. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her lady friends. Betty loved everyone and she was an amazingly strong lady. The word “NO” didn’t exist in her vocabulary.

Betty is survived by her children; Patricia (Allen) Kiester, Sherri (Rob) Clark, Lucky (Bonnie) Kent, Bryan (Lori) Kent, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and 4 sisters-in-law.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, parents, brothers, son, grandson and granddaughter.
