Tribute

Barbara Ann Williams 64, of Caldwell Idaho passed away, Monday evening on November 5, 2018 after a hard fight with metastatic breast cancer. She was surrounded by family who loved her very much. Barb was born on January 16, 1954 to Jim and Amy Williams in Ontario OR. She also went to school in Homedale, Idaho.

Barb graduated from University of Oregon. One of her passions was working with children and adults with disabilities. She became a special education teacher. She taught for over thirty years in the Caldwell, Middleton and Heppner School District. She was very involved with Special Olympics of Idaho, where she was a coach and also a local program coordinator. After retiring from teaching, she decided to continue helping families and became an employee with Advocates for Inclusion.

Barb was also very involved in her Catholic faith. She attended church and received communion up to her last days. Her passion for helping reached outside the classroom where she enjoyed volunteering for different organizations. Barb was also a supporter and advocate for animals. She enjoyed being a part of her teacher’s sorority, Alpha Delta Kapa. She also attended the cancer support group in Caldwell, where she met great friends and helped others who were battling cancer. Through a special sponsorship organization, she helped a child in Peru attend school, provide clothing, shoes and school supplies.

Barb’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She loved being a mom but loved being a grandmother even more. She spent lots of time making amazing memories with her family; from traveling to the Oregon coast, going to Peru to adopt, visiting family in Europe, to the simple things. She loved attending softball, basketball and dance events for her granddaughters and cheered for them as loud as she could! She loved camp fires on a cool summer evening, concerts, college football games, and art crafts from her grandchildren and students.

Barb always believed in doing the right thing. She stood up for those who needed help and cared for others with all her heart. She was a very strong women and her will to fight what was thrown her way, will never be forgotten. She lived and loved life to the fullest. Her passion and light will always be with us as we remember her and keep her close to our hearts. She will forever be loved and will be missed very much.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Ashley Zamora; her granddaughter’s, Rosie, Analisa and Victoria Zamora; her siblings, Sharon Carson and Jim Williams; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
