A lover of smooth jazz and white wine and surrounded by close family, Barbara Diane Anderson, 89, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2020. Born in Fargo, North Dakota and raised in Minneapolis, Barbara graduated from Patrick Henry High School and attended St. Olaf College and the Minneapolis Business School. She was the youngest daughter of Leona and Frank Cleve and the sister of Yvonne, all of whom are deceased.
While in Minneapolis, Barbara married Roger Anderson in 1953 and enjoyed 52 years together until he passed in 2005. The couple made stops on the east and west coasts before settling in Caldwell in 1971. Along the way, they raised four children, Kari Miller (Jim) of Caldwell, Todd Anderson (Patricia) of La Paz, Mexico, Kelli Belle (Craig) of Caldwell, and Eric Anderson (Jennifer) of Scottsdale, Arizona. Barbara loved visiting with her children and being a grandmother of six (Barrett, Kamryn, Kyle, Kevin, Joey, and Jocelyn), great grandmother of three (BJ, Christian, and Shane), and great great grandmother of three.
Barbara was the athletic child in her family of ‘toe dancers’ as her father, the Coach, would say. She enjoyed ice skating on the frozen lakes in Minnesota in her early days and was a lifelong golfer who passed on her passion for the game to her children and found joy in competing with her friends at Fairview, Purple Sage, and all of the Treasure Valley courses. She was member of the travel team and a past winner of the Caldwell Women’s City Championship. Barbara was also an avid Bridge player and enjoyed her weekly groups as well.
The family would like to express special thanks to Grace Assisted Living (especially Maria) and to Vanessa from All Care Hospice for helping their mom transition to her final resting place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis alongside Roger.
