We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Dakan Funeral Chapel
Arlene Bebe Lamkey (Eells) passed away on July 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Arlene was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and on the way to being a great-great grandmother. Her humor and spark for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
While her friends and family are devastated to lose her, we find comfort in the knowledge that in place of her weary body, she gains her heavenly form so that she can once again dance and run through the flowers.
Arlene was born April 8th, 1944, in Marsing, Idaho, to Lewis and Opal Eells. She attended school in the Marsing area and later in Boise.
Arlene married David Lamkey on October 16th, 1961, and they began their adventure together.
She enjoyed life, it did not matter if it was on their adventures to the Oregon coast or panning for gold in Idaho and Arizona, she loved it all. She was her happiest with her family and friends camping, walking in the mountains, showing her flower gardens, and crocheting. She loved to crochet beautiful blankets and hot pads for all of us. Arlene made sure all of us had something she had crocheted. She loved her flower beds and could tell you every name of every flower in those flower beds.
Arlene joins her parents, brother, and sisters along with her mother and father, sisters, and brother -in-laws in Heaven.
She is survived by many loving family members including, but not limited to her loving husband David Lamkey; their children Linda Monette (Kevin), Ed Lamkey (Christy), Michelle Mowery (Bob); her grandchildren Jeremy Lamkey (Tabitha) Crysta Crichton (Kelton) David Crichton, and Sarah Lamkey along with her great-grandsons Xzander and Thorin Lamkey, and bonus great-granddaughter Kenna.
Special thanks go to the staff at Horizon Home and Hospice for their excellent care and support.
There will not be a funeral service, only a graveside service with Arlene’s immediate family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She would rather you plant a flower to remember her by.
