Andy Jackson Peace Jr. was born March 28, 1931 in Carter Nine, Oklahoma to Mabel Hansing and Andy Jackson Peace Sr. Carter Nine was an oil boomtown that no longer exists. Andy grew up in Vinita, Oklahoma then moved to Wyoming, attending High School in Casper and working on a Ranch near Medicine Bow. While there Andy learned to tool leather and took up rodeo, riding saddle bronc’s and bulls.
Andy joined the Air Force in 1951 and was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base, Strategic Air Command, serving in the Air Police Division. While there he met and fell in love with Loris Lofquist. They married May 10, 1952.
After leaving the Air Force he and Loris moved to San Luis Obispo, California where Andy attended Cal-Poly attaining his certificate in Animal Husbandry. Andy loved the mountains of Idaho and centered his life around raising his 5 children and teaching them the love of the outdoors while canoeing, hunting, fishing, backpacking on foot and with horses.

Andy married Sharon Sessions Gill. They were always having fun doing something. They regularly went on movie and dinner ‘dates’, spent time in Long Valley, traveled to various Idaho hot springs and enjoyed many hours together in their rock shop making beautiful jewelry and belt buckles.
