Tribute

Amy Ethel Jensen was born on January 31, 1950, in Torrington, Wyoming, and passed while in the loving arms of her daughter, Carla, on June 16, 2022.

Preceded in death by her father, Ralph Freeman Mark Sr., her mother, Agnes Harriet Boruff Skeltcher Mark, and her 8 brothers, Phil, Jim, Jack, Dan, Ralph, Harley, Pete, and Tom. She is survived by her only sister, Helen Floyd of Caldwell; her children Tracy (Mike) Kasper, Billy Hacker, Becky (Craig) DeMark, and Carla (Mike) Frank; her grandchildren Courtney (Trent) Harrison, Jordan (Melissa) Kasper, Casey (Kayla) Coller, Colby Coller, Garrett Kasper, Griffin (Cassidy) Kasper, Corbin Beets, Tyler (Chrissy) Hacker, Justin (Natalya) Hacker, Garen Hacker, Emma Hacker, Miller DeMark, Warren DeMark, Maite’ Frank and Breken Frank; her great-grandchildren Kendall, McKenna, Bentley, Brooklyn, Brooks, Addilyn, Naomi and Whitley; and many sisters-in-law and friends whom she loved like sisters.

She loved camping with her kids and grandkids, playing pinecone baseball, fishing (any chance she could), crocheting, sewing and knitting. She made hundreds of outfits for all her kids and grandkids throughout the years, all her daughters’ wedding dresses, a myriad of formal dresses for school dances, and countless baby blankets. She was known for her western hospitality of always having an open door, a warm bed, a hot cup of coffee and she could cook for 2 or 200. Her home-cooked meals were infamous, and she would share whatever she had, even when she didn’t have much to share.

Amy raised more children than just her own. She loved her stepdaughters, nieces and nephews who came to live with her through troubling times, so many friends and friends of friends who needed a stable home, discipline, and her tough love. Any kid who was around her was a “grandkid”, and all knew she would hold them accountable, but love them fiercely.

Amy was always a hard worker. From helping her first husband run ranches, bottle-feeding, and warming freezing calves during a brutal spring storm in Wyoming, to working two full-time jobs when she moved to Idaho with her four children to start a new life. She later took her incredible leadership skills into the trucking industry and excelled as a safety compliance officer, working for well-known companies including Ida-Cal, May Trucking and Simplot Transportation until she retired. She also served as a leader in the Idaho Trucking Association (ITA) and was highly recognized for her volunteerism. Even in retirement, Amy was a fantastic bookkeeper.

Amy was resourceful, creative, had the most beautiful penmanship, could make anything out of nothing, and always, always, always put her family first. She lived a full life of extraordinary love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 2:00pm at Dakan Funeral Chapel on Kimball in Caldwell, Idaho, with her viewing at 1:00pm. Afterward, an internment service will be held at Canyon Hill Cemetery. Her children ask that all who attend wear colorful clothing to honor her bright spirit.
