Sandra “Sandy” Lurline Allen Bartles, age 78, died October 10, 2017 at a hospital in Boise, Idaho. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 19th at Sterry Memorial Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Roswell with Rev. Phillip Hughes officiating. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
Sandy was born on April 28, 1939 in Caldwell, Idaho, daughter of Homer Allen and Lucille Sayre Allen. Sandy grew up in Roswell, Idaho and graduated from Parma High School in 1957. She married Dale Bartles and they had three children together. Although they later divorced, they maintained a friendship and were both actively involved in raising their children.
She attended the University of Idaho after high school and later Boise State University, earning her Associate of Science degree and certification as a Graduate Respiratory Therapist from Boise State in 1973. For many years Sandy worked as a Respiratory Therapist at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell caring for patients and teaching respiratory therapy students until her retirement.
Sandy had two great loves in her life, her church and her family. Sandy loved her church family dearly. As a young girl she shared her gift for music and more recently served as Clerk of Session for 18 years. Sandy was always counted on for her organization and willingness to help others.
Sandy never missed a family function whether it be Sunday night dinner or the grandkids’ sporting events.  She enjoyed being an active member of her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren's lives.
She is survived by her son Gary (Carol) Bartles of Wilder, son Rob Bartles of Caldwell, and daughter Deb (Ed) Leavitt of Wilder; six grandchildren Sara Bartles of Parma, Andrew Bartles of Seattle, Rachel (Lance) Nichols, Becca (Ryan) Nichols, Anna Leavitt all of Parma, and Katelin Bartles of Boise; and two great-grandsons Reed and Layton Nichols of Parma.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ed Allen.
Memorials may be given to New Song Preschool or the Religious Education Programs at Sterry Memorial Evangelical Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 655, Parma, ID 83660.
