Rex is survived by his wife Lorene (Treko), sister Carmen, and children Don, Linda, Dixie, and Reed. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gene.
Rex was born on September 14, 1926 in Parma, Idaho to Harley and Dora Wagner. He attended Parma High School prior to joining the Navy in 1944. He married Lorene Scott, his sweetheart, on August 2nd, 1949 after winning a bet on a softball game. After his military service, he began working for Parma Water Lifter and finished his career at Obendorf Farms. Although Rex and Lorene spent most of their lives raising their children between Parma and Apple Valley, they had a brief adventure in Burley, Idaho.
Rex was a fantastic friend, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He hosted many weekend adventures on the farm, family vacations, and holiday celebrations. Everyone held a special place in his heart; especially Parker with whom he shared a birthday. Rex had many stories to tell, from playing on softball leagues to walking to Homedale dances, hunting and many more. Rex enjoyed many rounds of golf and fishing trips with numerous friends and family members. He also spent countless hours playing cribbage with his wife, Lorene and best friend, Chet Takatori. He enjoyed his annual trips to the Oregon Coast hosted by Linda, in which they hit every Casino imaginable. Rex loved to gamble and collect coins. He was very proud of being a veteran and celebrated his patriotism every chance he could. Rex was a very loving and respected man who always told it how it was. He is going to be missed dearly by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the people of both the Parma Living Center and the Owyhee Health and Rehabilitation Center for their caring support and dedication.
