Welcome to the memorial page for

Patricia L Barnes

February 4, 1922 ~ May 8, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

“Patty Lou” McEntyre spent her carefree early years in Los Angeles and Tulsa before moving to Boise at age 9 after her father’s death. She became very independent as an only child of a hard-working mother, spending much time alone with a dog for company. As a lively high-school student, Patricia met and later married Joseph Wayne Barnes. They raised 4 children together, residing primarily in Sand Hollow where she lived for 50 years. She enjoyed the space to have horses, chickens, many dogs and visiting grandchildren over the years. She also hosted decades of family gatherings with plenty of food, football and games and earned the nickname Granny.
Pat became a Christian in her 30s after her son Joe learned of Jesus at camp. Her church family became very important to her and she enjoyed teaching Sunday school to the Kindergarten group. She was a widow for 35 years and her Lord, her friends and her feisty personality helped her live independently until nearly 94 years of age.
Our mother/grandmother/friend remained grateful always for her Savior, confident of his promise to keep her with Him into eternity. She was invited to join Him after a long earthly life. Now she is at peace in His perfect presence. How amazing to picture her rejoicing and praising along with the other saints and the angels, forever experiencing the roar of heaven, smiling and dancing!
