Linda Kay Murray passed away December 21, 2017 in her home. She was born February 22, 1948 to Max and Doris Barton in Salt Lake City, Utah. Linda lived there with her family until 1965. She was the second oldest in a family with 7 siblings. She had a love for poetry and theatrical drama. In October 27, 1966 she married Bill Murray Jr. in Salt Lake City, Utah. They later moved to Pocatello, Idaho where they had their first daughter, Carolynn Ann Murray in 1967.
Over the years, they lived in Middleton and Greenleaf, Idaho. At one time they lived in a single wide trailer and then moved to the pink shed. They added to their family with two more daughters, Wendy Sue in 1972 and Jody Lynn in 1973. In 1976, they moved into a log cabin they built themselves.
Linda has, over the years, done work at the Odd Fellows home in Middleton, in-home babysitting, and worked retail. She also drove bus for Notus School and kept books at her daughter’s sports. She’s held church callings in the primary and as a librarian.
With her family she loved to go fishing and camping. She had an adventurous side and would ride motorcycles and horses. She also did quilting and many home projects. There were many family trips to Utah to visit family and to go camping.
Linda will be greatly missed, but it is a blessing to her and her family to know her struggles are over. Linda is survived by her husband, Bill (William) Murray; daughters Carolynn Murray, Wendy and Michael Eller and their boys, Sean, Eli, Wyatt and Isaac; Jody and Brent Waltman and their kids, Shanna, Joshua, Mariah, Camila, Porter, and Lancer; siblings Steven Barton, Sherman Barton, Shauna Carrig, Allan Barton, Logan Barton, Morris Barton, and Richard Barton.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at the LDS Church on Kimball Ave in Caldwell. Family will be receiving friends at a visitation on Thursday, December 28, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Dakan Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com.
