October 3, 1944 ~ March 15, 2024 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Judith (Judy) Kay Seward passed away on March 15th, 2024, after a long and courageous battle, surrounded by her loved ones. Mom was born on October 3,1944, in Parma Idaho, the youngest daughter of Gunnard and Emma Johanson. She had three siblings.

The Johanson family was a very tight-knit group. In addition to growing up in Parma, the family spent time in the mountains of the Payette National Forest. They enjoyed annual August fishing trips to Chinook, Washington, chasing the Salmon Runs. She caught more than her share. She cherished her family and their times fishing, working on projects, playing games and making music together.

Mom married Gordon Seward on April 3, 1969, and they enjoyed many happy years together until he passed away in 2022. The first two loves of her life were Brad and Dennis from a previous marriage. In 1972, she and Gordon had a son, Michael. The family grew again in 1977 when Gordon’s children from a previous marriage joined the family. Danny and Valerie were instantly welcomed to the family. Mom loved and supported all of us.

Mom had many successful careers over the years. In Rupert, she sold real estate, then worked for a time as the financial manager for the family business, Intermountain Irrigation. Mom and dad moved back to Parma in 1986 where she went to work at US Bank. She later worked as the book keeper for Intermountain Plumbing. She spent her retirement years enjoying family, her many hobbies and activities.

Mom loved games and played them every chance she could. She and the family shared a lot of love and laughter playing a variety of games. She was a very good bridge player. In addition to regular games with her brother and sisters, she was a regular with a number of clubs over the years. She also enjoyed bible study, quilting, daily walks with friends and sharing her Wordle score with many of us.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Seward; mother Emma Johanson; father Gunnard Johanson; brother Marvin Johanson; brother in-law Ralph Roberts; nephew David Roberts and her step- daughter Valerie Barnett. Mother is survived by her sisters Carla Hedges (Dick) and Kris Roberts; sons Brad Hild (Dana); Dennis Seward, Mike Seward and Danny Barnett. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great - grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The members of mom’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Grace Assisted Living in Eagle and the team at Heart and Home Hospice for taking such great care of Mom. A special heartfelt thank you goes out to Aysia Magill for taking such good care of mom and for being such a great and caring friend.
We all love you, mom, very much.
