Jo Ellen was born on December 7th, 1936 in Bellefonte Arkansas to Mamie Young Robinson and Frank James Robinson. Jo Ellen was the youngest of 8 children.

The family moved to Payette, Idaho in 1945. Jo Ellen attended Payette schools graduating in 1954. Following graduation, she worked at the First Security Bank in Payette until marrying the love of her life, Frank H. Lamb in 1957. Jo Ellen and Frank were married 59 years. They moved to Caldwell in February of 1958. Jo Ellen first worked for Simplot’s and then in the local banking industry for several years before going to work as the secretary/registrar at Caldwell High School for 10 years. While working at the high school she so enjoyed the students and their young pranks and antics, she liked helping with ticketing at games and elsewhere when needed. Jo Ellen finished her working career at Boise Cascade and retired after 15 years.

Jo Ellen is survived by her husband, Frank; daughters, De Etta L. Ewing of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jarice (Ron) Klahn of Melba, Idaho; four grandchildren, Kyle Austin Ewing, Camille JoEllen Ewing, Jared Kardel Klahn and Shanna Marie Klahn; as well as brother-in-law, Jess Herndon and many nieces and nephews. She loved Frank, her children and her grandchildren very much. Jo Ellen loved reading. Trips to the library were frequent and she encouraged both her own children and grandchildren to learn the joy of reading at a very early age. She commonly had arts & crafts and home improvement projects of one type or another underway. Later in life she learned she enjoyed the challenge and fun of deep water aerobics and the Caldwell YMCA. Jo Ellen’s quick laugh was loved and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mamie Robinson; brothers, Joe, Gordon, E.B. and David; sisters, Mary Lou Chadsey, Betty Ruth Graden and Anna Belle Herndon.

Jo Ellen will be buried at the Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caldwell Public Library.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at West Valley Medical for their unending kindness and compassion in caring for mom over the past several years.
