Everett C. Tanksley passed away at his home in Middleton, Idaho on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 15th at 6:00 p.m. at their family home in Middleton. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
Everett was born on August 23, 1940 in Hoosier, Kansas to John and Lilly Tanksley. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Fresno, California, and proudly served in the US Army. He was married to LaVonne Briggs and they were later divorced.
Everett married Leslee Sampson on August 25, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Everett was a tile setter for 40 years in California and Nevada before retiring and moving to Idaho in 2008. He loved fishing, carpentry and refinishing old furniture, but most of all Everett loved his grandchildren because he was their “Papa”.
Everett is survived by his beloved wife, Leslee Anne; sister, Carol Blank; daughters, Christy Tanksley and Ranee Tanksley, both of Henderson, NV, and Cindy Sampson Rovacehi of Boulder City, NV; son, Richard Sampson of Middleton; 5 grandchildren, Evan Reed, Krystalina Tanksley, Andrew Vasquez, Rhiannon Sampson and Alexandra Rovacehi; a great-grandson, Greyson Everett Dowell.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
