Eugene Laub

Eugene Laub, 72 of Nampa, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at a local care facility of natural causes. Gene was born June 18, 1944 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Lamond Minor and Edna Annette (Allred) Laub. He was raised and educated in the Homedale and Nampa areas. Gene left home at 16 and began a series of adventures from the US Navy, the marshes in Kentucky, and the Idaho mountains in High Valley, to name a few.
Gene loved to hunt, go camping, fish, trap, and hunt mushrooms. He was most at home in the mountains. His talents were seen with the furniture, toys and totem poles that he made, along with cars that he painted back in his younger days. Not many people could ‘wheel & deal’ like Gene - he thoroughly enjoyed buying and selling things for the thrill of getting a good deal. Gene also loved his Harley and the freedom that he felt every time he rode. He was a true “biker” at heart!
Gene is survived by his children and their spouses, Linda (Steve) Hammond, Mike Laub, Richard E. Laub, and Brian (Tiffany) Laub; his sister, Coleen; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and too many dear friends to count.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamond and Edna Laub; his siblings, Janet Laub Wilson, Jered Laub, Elaine Laub, Ardell Laub, Larry Laub, Marilyn Laub Trefren, Carol Laub Hughes, and Richard Laub.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 25th at the LDS Chapel, 121 N Canyon St, Nampa.
