Welcome to the memorial page for

Dr Edward Allen Westcott

May 29, 1939 ~ August 17, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old
Ed returned to the Lord peacefully after suffering a stroke following surgery a week ago. Ed was born in Lexington, Nebraska to Leo and Lovina Westcott. Ed is survived by his wife of 53 years Carolyn, his three children Mark Westcott, Sondra Faull, and Shirley Blakeley, as well as his four grandchildren: Mark and Brittany Blakeley and James and Hudson Faull.
Ed was passionate about learning. He attended college at Chadron State in Nebraska before going on to medical school at the University of Utah where he specialized in Anesthesiology. His medical career began by serving others in the Indian Health Service. He practiced for many years in the Caldwell Memorial Hospital, and later the V.A. Hospital in Boise. While at the V.A. hospital, he ran a pain clinic and received the Hands and Heart Award.
Ed loved the Idaho outdoors including hunting, fishing, horse packing and climbing over the next mountain. He also enjoyed woodworking and loved his cats, dogs and horses. His greatest love however, was for his family, and helping others. He was a man of faith who believed deeply in the nearness of the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will be deeply missed by those of us who, for a little while longer, still have work to do in the here and now. However, we look forward to the joy that will envelop us when we are reunited with him and other loved ones in the Father’s Eternal Kingdom.
An open memorial service is planned for Ed at Dakan Funeral Chapel at 504 S. Kimball Ave. in Caldwell on Thursday morning August 24th at 10:30 a.m. A private burial service will be held for immediate family only following the service. No formal reception is planned following the ceremony. In future days, for any who would like to visit the burial site, it is located within the Garden of Sunrise partition of Hillcrest Memorial Gardens located on Karcher Road/Hwy 55 near Indiana Avenue in Nampa. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
