Charlotte M. Sandifer, 94, passed away on August 25, 2017 in Boise, Idaho. Charlotte was born in Delta, Colorado to Clarence & Edna Sandifer. She graduated from Paonia High School in 1941 and when Pearl Harbor happened on December 7th, she desperately wanted to join the Women's Auxiliary Corp but her mom would not let her.
Jobs were scarce in Paonia so at the age of 18 & 19 she and her sister, Shirley, decided to move to Caldwell, Idaho and were able to find a job with the J.R. Simplot Company. This was the beginning of a very successful 40 year career for Charlotte in the Quality Control Department. The highlight was when she was transferred to New Zealand to direct the installation of a Quality Control Department in the new facility.
Charlotte has a deep love for family. Her Brother, Bob, was having difficulty in his marriage and she volunteered to help him by taking care of his son Don at the age of 5. As the years progressed she regarded him as her son and took care of him accordingly. In later years Don had seven children: Rhiannah, Justin (Tiffany), Cody (Diana), Sarah, Dawn Renee, and Knicia. She was affectionately known by her nieces & nephews and their offspring as "Grandma". The designation she cherished and the family was the center of her life. The "grandchildren" were: Matthew, Nathanael, Ethan, Micheal, Arrianna, Kaitlyn, Hailey, Perry Jr., Jacoblee, Johnny, Ashlyn, and Peyton.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother Bob, sister Shirley (Chester).
She is survived by her sister Melba (Paul), nephew Don (Connie) and many nephews, nieces, cousins.

A viewing will be held at the Dakan Funeral Chapel on Tuesday August 29, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. Services will also be held at the Dakan Funeral Chapel on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
