Tribute

Ann Bettencourt was born to Charley and Marie Montgomery on January 17, 1937 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Her family relocated to California soon after her birth, and she attended elementary school in Temecula, and completed her education in Patterson, California, where she graduated from Patterson High School in 1955. After graduation she attended Fresno Beauty and then returned to Patterson to pursue her career as a beautician. In 1970 she opened and operated her own beauty salon, Ann's Beauty Boutique, where she made many lifelong friends. Up until her final days, she was still in constant contact with her two co-workers and best friends, Barbara and Gloria.
Ann married the love of her life, Chuck Bettencourt, on September 6, 1959. They started their life together in Patterson, before moving to Parma in 1975. Together they had three children, Tammy, Lisa and Mark. Chuck and Ann operated a dairy farm in Parma, and Ann helped raise calves, feed cows and changed sprinkler pipe. After retirement Chuck and Ann moved to Caldwell, Idaho where Ann enjoyed working on her yard. She always looked forward to spring and visiting the local nurseries for flowers for her garden. After the passing of her husband Chuck in 2018, Ann moved back to Parma to be closer to family. She loved attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities, especially their sporting events. She rarely missed a game and was always their biggest and loudest supporter!
Ann was fortunate enough to have all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren live within a 30 mile radius of her during the past year. An avid sports fan, she traveled to Hawaii to cheer on BSU and never missed a Duke basketball game on TV! Music was another love of Mom's, and she had the opportunity to go on an Alaskan rock n roll oldies cruise, as well as travel to Nashville, where one of the highlights of her trip was visiting Kid Rock's honky tonk! Chuck and Ann were amazing dancers. They were always a hit on the dance floor. If you were lucky, you might catch them dancing in the kitchen to their favorite song, Save The Last Dance For Me. Ann’s home was always a place of warmth and love to whoever visited. She loved hosting her family on holidays and the best days were the days she was surrounded by her loved ones. Her final days were just that, in her home surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We will miss you Mom but will forever hold you in our hearts. We love you!
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Marie Montgomery, her husband, Chuck, and her son-in-law, David Selee. Ann is survived by her brother, Charles Montgomery. Children, Tammy Selee, Lisa (Bud) Bowman, and Mark Bettencourt. Grandchildren Melissa (Derek) Blomquist, Ashley (Lorne) Dickerson, Whitney (Philip) Obendorf, Charlie (Dylan) Wheeler, Alissa Bowman, and Jonathan (Jessica) Bettencourt. Great grandchildren Preslee and Sophee Lenz, Juliette and Mila Blomquist, Mason and Emily Obendorf, Olivia Becherer, Adaline and Charlotte Wheeler, and Walker Bettencourt.
