Alice Christine Roberson

November 12, 1927 ~ March 9, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Alice Christine Nelson Roberson, age 89 passed away at Caldwell, Idaho, on March 9, 2017. She was born in Boise, Idaho, November 12, 1927. She was the youngest and last surviving daughter of six born to Chris and Alice Trana Nelson. Alice always remained close with her sisters, Mildred, Eleanor, Eva, Judy, and Evelyn. She attended Garfield school until moving with her family to Wilder to farm in 1935. She graduated valedictorian of Wilder High School class of 1945. She and her classmates met annually for 71 years. Alice worked as a secretary at the First Security Bank main branch in Boise until she married Alvin Roberson on July 15, 1950. They purchased a farm in Arena Valley where they raised their sons, Jay and Lee, and daughter, Tina.
Alice was baptized into the Lord’s church in Boise and continued serving at the Parma Church of Christ. She taught Bible classes for the children for many years. She served as secretary of the Roswell PTA and filled various offices of the Arena Valley Circle for over 50 years. Sewing, canning, and cooking were more than hobbies to her; they were her way of providing for and serving her family. Her hobbies were reading, crafts, growing flowers, and challenging her mind with word games.
Alice is most known for her service, interest and care for others. As a farm wife she worked hard all of her married life, making sure her family was properly-dressed, fed, supported and warm. She was a loving mother and wife.
Alice is survived by her son, Jay (Rosana) of Austin, TX; daughter, Tina (Steve) Towell of Camas, WA; daughter-in-law, Carolyn of Salmon, ID; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin, to whom she was married for 66 years; her son, Lee; and her granddaughter, Alicia.
Memorial gifts sent to Manuelito Navajo Children’s Home, PO Box 58, Gallup, NM 87395 would be appreciated.
